First A.Q.A.B Night! Friday the 5th of October, welcoming the Queer Insurrection Tour

Alliance of Queers Against Boredom is a new collective aiming to bring all sorts of anarcha-queer fun to London. Expect politics, debate, film nights, vegan cakes, disco dancing and much more…

For our first event, on the 5/10/2012 AQAB is proud to host some awesome peeps from Queers Bash Back and Occupy Oakland, on their Queer Insurrection Tour. They will be discussing anarchist and queer struggles in the US, whilst vegan food and music to dance to will also be provided.

The Queer Insurrection Tour will be a discussion of the struggle against gender, heteronormativity and the State in the US. Two queer anarchists will present their experiences in recent struggles and uprisings. A former member of Bash Back! (and editor of the Queer Ultraviolence anthology) will talk about the history of the network of queer anarchists throughout the country. Another Bay Area anarchist will talk about the queer and feminist dimensions of the anarchist movement and recent uprisings in San Francisco and Oakland. Together they will discuss the possibilities and intersections of violence, criminality, and identity within the context of social revolt.
